Workout Music: Childish Gambino- Heartbeat

First song in my workout music series is Heartbeat by Childish Gambino. This song is full of hard beats, a fast paced tone, and filled with aggression. My kind of song to shred some lb's to. Get after it!

Top 5 Healthy Snacks on the GO!

I know your all successful millionaires, super busy trying to read my blog on the go. So I was thinking I have to post this idea, this post is just for you! haha Ok were all broke, wannabe millionaires...but hey for some reason were still busy. So I'm sure you can still relate to this post.

You know I just always find myself telling my clients things and always say "Damn I need to put that up on my blog that for everyone!" Well this is a great topic and something I always go over with my fitness clients. So here is my personal pick list of the top 5 healthy snacks you can take on the go: (please note these are just in my opinion, if you have others comment below or start a debate and we will hash it out)

  1. Beef Jerky
    1. This is the real deal, straight meat and some seasonings. Greattt source of protein plus it can outlast any weather condition. I finally found a site that offers delicious varieties! Check it out, my favorites the Fajita style.
  2. Trail Mix
    1. Once again weather proof and can go anywhere! However you must beware, some of these flavors are just filled with chocolates...which I'm sure this is not making it any less attractive for most of my readers, but I would highly recommend the classic or spicy mixes.
  3. Greek Yogurt
    1. With the high quality protein content and probiotics this snack provides it's like a healthy punch in the gut from Iron Mike Tyson! Their prices have come down a bit with their new popularity.
  4. Peanut/Almond Butter Toast
    1. C'mon this is a classic. I gotta have a comfort food on here. Remember lil ol' Nana in the kitchen calling you in from the sandbox for some lunch, sitting you down for some PB & J with a tall glass of whole milk! (Don't hate on or blame grandma for making you fat, she was just looking out for you growing physique...plus they didn't know any better back then ;)
  5. Protein/Energy Bar and or Shake
    1. A big favorite of mine because they are quick, easy to get some decent protein in the system and great for on the go! The pic below is one of my favorites.

Hopefully this helps you on your healthy snack eating endeavors. Now go throw those twinkles away!

Motivational Video & Quote of the Week: Fame or Juliet-Dreams of Reality/Eric Thomas

This is my own inspired version of this song/video about those that inspired me (ET, Fame or Juliet, Eminem, Detroit). Mad respect to "Fame or Juliet" for putting together such a sick and motivational song. Your lyrics are ridiculous! You dudes are going to blow up. As for ET, I have been watching Eric Thomas "ET the hip hop preacher" for months now and he continues to inspire me, as well as you I'm assuming, if you have found this video. Also a Detroit native, this goes out to the hope that ET is bringing to those struggling in our fine city of Detroit and the state of Michigan. In the words of ET- "When you get to the point where all you want to do is be successful, as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful!" (Quote of the Day)
The dude is incredible. Please like/subscribe and we can all inspire by spreading hope via music & video.

Finding Your Inner Strength

Todays  post comes from a featured follower who wishes to share some inspirational as to how a life coach can help fight the battle of cancer. You all know how I love inspiration so I would love to share this sent to me from Ms. Emily W. who wishes to inform the world for a moment.

"Facing a cancer diagnosis is a monumental task, and most people can benefit from the help and support a life coach can provide. According to the Mayo Clinic, many cancer survivors say they relied on their own inner strength to help fight the battle and move beyond their diagnosis. When a patient first learns their mesothelioma prognosis or breast cancer diagnosis, they are often wracked with questions and doubts. Some wonder if they have the inner strength to fight this battle. Many patients are physically and emotionally exhausted when they finally find the cause behind their symptoms. A life coach can't fight the battle for you, but they can help any cancer victim find their own inner strength.

Many people may become weighted down by their past. Someone who lacks self-esteem may feel that they lack the courage and mental fortitude to fight cancer. A life coach can help you discover your own worth in a way that a support group or family member cannot. Your coach can help you move beyond your past and become someone strong enough to cope with a serious disease like mesothelioma. You don't need to resolve past issues in order to move forward, all you need to do is teach yourself new patterns and ways of thinking. A positive attitude may not change your prognosis, but it will make all the difference in how you feel day to day.

A cancer diagnosis can change your life and drastically alter the way you live. The changes can be difficult to cope with, and a life coach can help you set personal goals and focus on finding ways to keep doing what you love. Sometimes it can be hard not to sink into depression and hopelessness, and many cancer victims even feel guilty for not remaining positive all the time. Some health professionals will even tell patients that their attitude can directly affect the outcome of their disease, leaving patients feeling responsible when treatments don't work or conditions deteriorate. A life coach can help you deal with negative feelings in a positive way, without guilt or judgment. With the help of a coach you can learn to deal with the people in your life, and find ways to keep other people from bringing you down."

-Emily W.

Thank you greatly Emily for the courage to share your inspiration. God bless Emily!
